Installfest Fall 2013 Results

On Saturday, September 7th, the ASU Linux User Group welcomed State Farm Insurance as they held a multi-skill team-based challenge. The challenge involved a sysadmin detective challenge, a sysadmin easter egg hunt, and 4 code golf programming problems. The team “nsa4u” dominated with 435 points, completing the Detective challenge and Easter Egg hunt, and winning one of the code golf problems, led by the MVP (most valuable programmer) of the day, Justin Paglierani. “Drop Table teams;” won two of the code golf problems as well. Final scores are below (click to enlarge).

Many attendees installed Linux on their laptops, and as can be expected, the jury is still out on the best distro (Arch, Gentoo, Ubuntu, Debian? Which one is your favorite?) Thanks go out to the State Farm representatives and State Farm as a whole for making all of this possible!
